I have no idea what this long leaf herb with the yellow flower is but it bursts with flavor! There’s no strong smell (that I can tell) but it has such a deep flavor. It’s in my mom’s garden and even she doesn’t know what it is. Her friend gave her a bunch a couple months ago. One strand had roots still on it and she planted it.
I put spinach in my green juice today and i didn’t have a bad aversion to it. I hate not liking it in my salad but at least this way I can reap some of its benefits.
Being new to juicing, I started seeing references to this documentary and curiosity got the best of me. So I watched it last night. This man basically lost 80 lbs on 2 months of juicing. Holy cow, right?
If I watched this a year ago, I would have probably focused solely on that…in 2 months he lost 80 lbs on juicing. I should do the same so that in 2 months I’d lose a shit ton of weight too. Now, I know that is not the case.
I like the idea that people are “rebooting” their tastebuds with juicing, but to do it for a # of days/weeks/months is not for me. I feel like I would sabotage myself if I started juicing like that. Instead I incorporate it into my diet to help get those nutrients absorbed. Slow and steady is my mantra now.
This documentary is nicely done and I encourage others to watch it, not so they can learn a quick weight-loss scheme, but to look at the benefits of adding whole, unprocessed foods to their diet. Your tastebuds will change and maybe that will help jumpstart your weight loss endeavors.
I get so excited when I’m about to juice. I’m not over the novelty of it yet and I hope it stays that way!
